Description

I've always thought that strong symbols were a great way to establish a character in there readers mind, when you think of batman, you think of the bat-signal, when you think of superman, you think of the "S" on his chest and so on. These 12 symbols, (or 11, if you don't count the extra one at the top) correspond to either a character or idea in the Eternium and I going to waste your time naming and explaining each so buckle up.

The first is Zeta's symbol, as you can likely tell, it's simply a backwards "Z" with a vertical line passing through the top and bottom. Too me, This symbol captures Zeta's unpredictable and constantly changing manner. The origin for this symbol is rather simple, as part of my "Emergency Runic Alphabet" project (which is a simple replacement cypher, for those of you who wonder...) I created this symbol as a replacement for the letter "Z". When I was writing a short story that featured Zeta as a sort of Lovecraftian horror, I needed a symbol for his cultists to scrawl in mysterious places, I used this out of panic and it stuck.

The second is The Eternal's symbol, and is a perfectly straight black line. To contrast the chaos of Zeta's symbol a thing of order was needed. A line, Infinite in all directions, perfectly straight and unchanging. No fancy origin.

The third is The Author's Symbol. For some reason it was one of the very few things I could consistently draw well, so it became my personal symbol, Read into that what you will.

The fourth Is the running man. ....

The fifth is Onex's symbol, which is an "O" with an "x" centered on one of it's sides. For me It represents Onex's mysterious past and bizzare nature. I made this specifically to be his symbol no complex origin here.

The sixth is Chuck's symbol, it is a elongated "C" with a obtuse line passing through it. Also freshly made.

The seventh Is a currently unassigned symbol. No story or anything, just a cool symbol, Semi-based on the fact that the Eternium has two moons on a separate orbit so they can eclipse each other.

The eighth is Lebedev's symbol, Two "L"s one above the other... You can tell that right around here my creativity ran out.

The ninth Is Sock-O's symbol, An inverted "L" with a hollow and shaded circle. It kinda looks like sock-o if you squint, I was getting tired, So sue me.

The tenth (missing from the lower set) is Herald's symbol, A sideways "H" made wiggley...... yeah.

The Eleventh is Eliza's symbol, an Ankh. An old symbol of immortality and eternal life. Since Eliza's pretty similar to Death in the sandman, I thought why bother looking up what an Ouroboros looks like and just use that for now.

The last is Id's symbol.
